The investigation is continuing after troopers responded to a call reporting possible deceased persons in the Meadow Lakes area of Wasilla on Sunday morning.

When Alaska State Troopers responded to the scene in the Meadow Lakes area, they discovered two individuals dead from gunshot wounds inside the house. The two people, an adult male and an adult female were found to have been shot in the head.

Troopers identified 41-year-old Wasilla resident Anthony Torres and his next of kin has been notified. Troopers declined to identify the deceased female as her next of kin have yet to be notified.

Investigators from the Palmer Major Crimes Unit and a Crime Lab Technician responded to the scene along with troopers and are conducting their investigation into the deaths. According to trooper dispatch, a pistol was found next to Torres’s remains.

Troopers are treating the incident as a murder-suicide.
