A mid-morning accident involving a Wasilla school bus due to icy road conditions was reported to troopers just after 9 am on Friday.
Troopers responded at 9:26 am and found that a school bus with 14 students on board driven by Catherine West had encountered icy roads as she was attempting to negotiate a downhill curve on Edlund Road near Bill’s Way.
In the extremely icy conditions, the bus slid off the road and over an embankment and overturned in the process.
48-year-old West and three six-year-old students heading to Snowshoe Elementary suffered injuries in the accident.
All four were transported to the Mat-Su Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
