On Sunday afternoon, a call went in to Soldotna Dispatch reporting a three-vehicle crash at mile 116.5 0f the Sterling Highway.
According to the report, on Sunday afternoon at shortly after 4 pm, 49-year-old Homer resident Kelli Somers was traveling the highway, when she lost control and crashed into the ditch, rolling the vehicle which came to rest on its on its roof, totaling the Toyota Sedan.
A short time later, 58-year-old Anchor Point resident Donald Breese saw the vehicle overturned in the ditch as he was traveling northbound on the highway, and slowed his vehicle. As he did so, he lost control of his Ford Ranger and crossed the centerline of the highway. Breese crashed into a full-sized truck driven by 25-year-old Soldotna resident Brian Blossom. Both trucks were totaled in the collision.
Blossom sustained minor injuries in the accident and was transported to Central Peninsula Hospital for treatment along with Somers.
Breese was issued a citation for driver due care to avoid collision.
