Ryan Loskarn was found unconscious and hanging in his parent's basement on Thursday in Sykesville, Maryland according to the Carroll County Sheriff's office.
35-year-old Loskarn was arrested on Child Pornography charges in December. Until that time, Laskarn had a clean criminal record. He was under house arrest and was ordered to wear an ankle monitor and banned from the Internet following his court appearance after his arrest. He was residing at his parent’s house when the incident occurred.
Loskarn faced up to 10 years on possession charges and five to twenty on distribution charges. He was due back in court on February 10th.
Authorities broke down Loskarn’s door with a ram in Washington on December 11th. When they entered his residence, they observed him trying to hide a portable hard-drive outside of his window. Authorities would find over 200 Child Porn videos on the drive. Loskarn was also allowing other people on the Internet to download images from his portable drive.
At his hearing on December 16th, U.S. Attorney Mi Yung Park argued that he should not be released from custody. Loskarn had said to officials that his life was over. Loskarn’s defense attorney, Pamela Satterfield, said however, that suicide was not a concern.
Loskarn was moving quickly in Washington before being arrested on the charges. In 2009, he was named one of Roll Call’s”Fabulous 50 Movers and Shakers” on Capitol Hill.
Loskarn was fired by Senator Alexander immediately after he was arrested.
