Singapore’s defense minister says a Singaporean navy ship has located the fuselage of the AirAsia jet that crashed into the Java Sea last month.
Defense Minister Ng Eng Hen said in a Facebook post Wednesday that a remotely operated vehicle being used in the search took images showing part of the plane’s wing and words on the fuselage.
He said Indonesian authorities have been notified so they can begin recovery operations.
Indonesian divers found the plane’s flight recorders earlier this week.
The Airbus jet crashed on December 28 less than halfway into its scheduled two-hour flight from the Indonesian city of Surabaya to Singapore.
There were 162 people on board, and so far 48 bodies have been recovered.
