After its engine died while in flight, a Cessna 172 operated by Yute Air was forced to put down on a frozen lake 5.7 miles west of Bethel Monday evening.
There four people on in the aircraft when it made its unscheduled landing in the middle of nowhere. The three passengers and the pilot were uninjured in the incident.

The Alaska State Troopers were notified at 6:45 pm.
Bethel Search and Rescue responded to the scene with two ATVs and brought the aircraft’s occupants to Bethel.
The chilly fliers were warmed up and checked over by EMTs and found to be fine but cold.
The FAA was notified of the incident.
