On the heels of the Tustumena's resumption of service to the Kenai Peninsula, Kodiak Island and Aleutian Chain after an extended period of down time, comes news of the closure of Homer's Alaska Ferry Adventures and Tours.

The closure of the travel agency became official on October 31st. The doors closed for good after the announcement last month by the Alaska Marine Highway System that they would no longer pay the 10% booking commissions to travel agencies for Alaskans making reservations through the agencies for for travel on the system.
