Warrants for a Kiana man have been issued as the investigation into the death of Dolly Smith continues in Kiana by the Alaska Bureau of Investigations.
70-year-old Dolly Smith was discovered deceased in her home on Friday.
Troopers have not determined that the death is a homicide as yet, but circumstances that surround her death are being investigated, Her body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s office in Anchorage for autopsy.

Warrants have been issued for 45-year-old Kiana resident Teddy Smith however. The warrants are for Assault III and Misconduct Involving Weapons IV.
According to trooper reports, Teddy Smith had been drinking during the time of Dolly Smith’s death, and when first responders went to the scene of D. Smith’s death, T. Smith discharged a weapon at the crowd of people outside the residence.
After the incident, T. Smith fled the area and his whereabouts are unknown.
Troopers say that no threats have been received, but troopers had previously requested that residents remain in-doors during the first 24 hours that troopers searched for T. Smith.
Authorities have not requested that any public facilites such as schools, airports, or community buildings be locked down, but they consider T. Smith to be armed and dangerous.
