During a routine patrol through the North Pole area early this morning, Alaska State Troopers they saw a suspicious person sitting in front of a local business.
When they approached to find out why the man in black was sitting in front of a business at 3:24 in the morning, the individual, later identified as Samuel Charlie, attempted to leave the area.. Troopers immediately detained him.
Charlie, age 32, from North Pole was found during the encounter to be in possession of a crow bar. Further investigation of the scene, found that the door to the business had significant damage done to it by a person or persons attempting to break into the business.
Charlie was arrested at the scene and transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center and remanded there without bail.
