Alaska State Troopers based in Kotzebue dispatched to the community of Selawik after receiving a report of Terroristic Threatening from that village on Friday.
Upon their arrival, the troopers found that 50 year-old Frank Berry of Selawik had phoned a woman with which he had a former relationship with at her place of employment, threatening to come there and shoot her.
After receiving the call, the woman fled her job and went to the Selawik Clinic to await the arrival of the troopers. Both her place of work as well as the clinic were locked down.
The investigation reports that indeed Berry had a rifle and did make the terror call. Troopers arrested Berry, transported him to Kotzebue then on to Nome. Once in Nome Berry was remanded to the Anvil Mountain Correctional Center. He is awaiting arraignment there on charges of Terroristic Threatening II and Misconduct Involving a Weapon in the FFourth Degree.
He was remanded without bail.
