Troopers in Glennallen were alerted of a stolen vehicle southbound on the Richardson Highway by the Fairbanks dispatch on Monday afternoon.

The report from Fairbanks reported that a maroon Chevy Impala with the license plate DWL171 was progressing down the Richardson Highway from Delta Junction and headed southbound toward Glennallen at 3:31 on Monday.The vehicle was reported stolen in Anchorage on November 7th.

Now alerted, troopers were on the lookout and located the Impala at mile 144 of the Richardson soon after. After locating the vehicle, they contacted, identified, and arrested the driver, 24-year-old Anchorage resident Alex Fox for Vehicle Theft I and Driving with a Revoked License.

Further investigation of the vehicle would find additional stolen items, including four stolen firearms.

The investigation is continuing.
