The woman who was shot during the shoot-out on the Sterling Highway on Sunday has been identified and a warrant has been issued and served on her.

It was on the 15th of this month, at 5:18 pm, that the woman, now identified as 58-year-old Tonee M Walker of Anchor Point, was reported driving erradically along the Sterling Highway.

At 6:15 pm that day, the Wildlife trooper, now identified as Trooper Trent Chwialkowski, attempted to stop her on the highway. Rather than respond to the officer, Walker pulled a weapon and began firing at the wildlife trooper. He returned fire and the yellow SUV sped away northbound.

A short time later, the yellow SUV would come to a stop again, this time in the middle of the highway.

Troopers from Soldotna and Anchor Point along with the Homer Police Department and the South Central SERT team arrived at the scene to assist. After 30 minutes, the driver of the vehicle finally extended her arms out of the vehicle and officers were able to take her into custody.

It was then that it became apparent that Walker had received a gunshot wound to the torso. She was transported to the hospital in Homer, then moved again to the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage, for treatment of her wounds.

Yesterday, an arrest warrant was issued for Walker. She was arrested following her release from the hospital in Anchorage.

She has been charged with one count of Attempted Murder I, four counts of Assault III, and one count of Reckless Driving.

After her arrest, she was taken to the Anchorage Jail.
