Anchorage Police have made an arrest in the homicide of Adrian Beaver.
On August 25, 2012, at about 10:41 p.m., APD received multiple 911 calls in reference to a physical disturbance occurring near 11th Avenue and Hyder Street. Officers responded to the scene and found two victims suffering from stab wounds. Officers were told that the suspect, a lone black male, had left the scene on a bicycle. The victims, identified as Lovie Houston and Adrian Beaver were transported to Providence Hospital for treatment. Houston was treated for a knife wound to the neck and released; Beaver died as a result of the injuries received during the assault.

During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that Beaver had been in a verbal altercation earlier that evening with a black male known only as “T.” While processing the crime scene, officers found a cellular phone and a bicycle lock. Research revealed that the cell phone was connected to a subject named Tidiane Kone. Photos retrieved from the cell phone show Kone on a bicycle matching the description of the suspect and bicycle from the homicide scene.
Also seen in one of the photographs was a bike lock that appeared to match the lock found at the corner of 11th and Hyder Streets. Detectives then learned that Kone was on electronic monitoring through Alaska Pre-Trial Services. A check with Alaska Pre-Trial services shows that Kone was at 11th and Hyder Streets at 10:39 p.m. on August 25, 2012, approximately two minutes before the first 911 call.
Tidiane Kone was arrested and charged with Murder 1, two counts of Assault, and two counts of Violation of Condition of Release. He was taken to the Anchorage Jail and is being held without bail. Kone was arraigned at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Anchorage Jail court.
