An Anchorage man was killed at the SA Exploration operations in Chinitna Bay on Wednesday. Troopers were called in to investigate.
Anchorage man 26-year-old Brian Mitvitnikoff was killed while walking between drilling sites according to the trooper dispatch.

Troopers from Anchor Point responded to the scene in Chinitna Bay and conducted their investigation.
Trooper spokeperson Megan Peters says that Mitvitnikoff was found down a small hill. It is unknown if he fell there as a result of a medical condition or misstep, or if he fell down the hill and that was the cause of his death. Peters explained that Mitvitnikoff’s remains had been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s office for autopsy to determine exact cause of death. Currently, foul play is no expected as a cause of his death according to the Alaska State Troopers.
