Anchorage Police officers responded to the report by a neighbor that a woman in a neighboring apartment was deceased on Monday shortly after 2 pm.

When officers arrived at the apartment complex on the 3200 block of LaTouche Street, they discovered that a 67 year old woman was deceased in her home. The cause of her death was not immediately determined.

Detectives from the APD Homicide Unit and the Crime Scene Investigation Team began their investigation of this death. Preliminary results from an autopsy of the victim by the Alaska State Medical Examiner’s Office are expected later today.
