An Anchorage woman was sentenced on Monday to 95 months in prison for selling crack cocaine according to U.S. Attorney Karen Loeffler.

27-year-old Nancie Caridad Modeste was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Sharon Gleason. Prior to sentencing, Gleason noted the seriousness of Modeste’s crimes as well as her serious past criminal history.

Modeste was arrested on September 5, 2012 for possession of a Controlled Substance as well as possession of firearms.

At the time of her arrest, Modeste had over 100 grams of crack cocaine concealed beneath the driver’s seat. Also found in the box containing the crack cocaine was a scale used to weigh the drugs. Her fingerprints were found on the box as well.

Inside of of the vehicle’s center console was found three semi-automatic pistols.

Modeste, who has a previous conviction for evidence tampering, admitted to possessing and selling crack, she also admitted to possessing the firearms. She pleaded guilty to the charges on April 11th of this year.

Special Assistant U.S. District Attorney Erin White prosecuted the case that was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Alaska State Troopers.
