A hunter on the Andreafski River northeast of Saint Marys was medevaced by a private aircraft on Monday morning after suffering from severe medical issues the trooper dispatch reported on Tuesday.
At 10:03 am on Monday, troopers were informed that hunter, 38-year-old Travis Siekert was “having severe medical issues.” Troopers went airborne in a float plane and at 12:05 pm, they located Siekert in a raft with another hunter. Siekert was loaded into a private plane and transported to Saint Marys for emergency medical treatment. Once that treatment was performed, Siekert was further medevaced to Bethel.
Following the medevac, searchers were sent upriver to the raft location to make contact with the remaining hunter. After contact, the hunter was transported to Saint Marys.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
