Alaska National Guard hosts Western Regional Biathlon

CAMP DENALI, Alaska— Approximately 70 Guardsmen from 10 western states will compete in the National Guard Bureau’s Western Regional Biathlon at Kincaid Park in Anchorage on Jan. 11 and 12, beginning at 11 a.m. both days.

On Thursday, Representative Charisse Millett (R-Anchorage), Representative Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins (D-Sitka), Representative Benjamin Nageak (D-Barrow), and Representative Bryce Edgmon (D-Dillingham) announced they are pre-filing the Alaska Native Language Bill to make each of the Native languages in Alaska an official language of the state.

Tanana Still Without Internet after New Years Celebration

Tanana is still suffering from an Internet and partial TV outage after an incident, just after midnight on January 1st, when the celebration in that community ramped up to bring in the New Year.

HEA Employee Electrocuted While Working in Homer

The Soldotna Dispatch of the Alaska State Troopers received a call of an electrocution at 4:35 pm on Wednesday. The call came in from the Homer Electric Association after they received a call from one of their crews working in the field.
