GAO Reveals Agricultural Department Paying Out Millions to Dead Farmers

As Congress continues to work to hammer out a Trillion dollar farm bill, news has come out of the General Accountability Office that as much as $22 million in subsidies may have been paid out between 2008 and 2012 to farmers that have been dead for two or more years.

Juneau, Alaska – Governor Sean Parnell on Friday expressed his dissatisfaction after learning the Regional Office of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service had rejected the State’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act (ANILCA) Section 1002(e) Exploration Plan.
