University of Alaska Museum of the North Designated Cultural Repository

Juneau, Alaska – The Alaska House of Representatives Monday unanimously passed a bill designating the University of Alaska’s Museum of the North as a cultural and historical repository. The move, contained within House Bill 154, means to protect the museum’s collections and help it gain access to federal and state grants and donations.

House OKs Bill Offering One-Time Oil and Gas Lease Extensions

Juneau, Alaska – The Alaska House of Representatives today passed a bill granting the Commissioner of the Department of Natural Resources the ability to offer one-time lease extensions to oil and gas or gas-only lease holders provided they meet certain benchmarks.

Legislature Approves Extending Board of Marine Pilots

Juneau, Alaska – The Alaska Legislature today, with unanimous passage in the Senate, passed House Bill 22, by Representative Kurt Olson, which extends the termination date of the Board of Marine Pilots to June 30, 2019.
