ALASKA-It was on this day on January 3rd, 1959, that Alaska officially became the 49th state in the Union. Then sitting President Eisenhower signed the state into being in a ceremony on July 7th of 1958 that unveiled the new 49-star American flag.

Schizophrenia Diagnosis Associated With Progressive Brain Changes among Adolescents

SPAIN-Adolescents diagnosed with schizophrenia and other psychoses appear to show greater decreases in gray matter volume and increases in cerebrospinal fluid in the frontal lobe compared to healthy adolescents without a diagnosis of psychosis, according to a report in the January issue of Archives of General Psychiatry, one of the JAMA/Archives journals.
