Cutter Healy, Renda To Bring Aid To Nome

JUNEAU, Alaska — The Coast Guard Cutter Healy has completed a seven-month science mission and their deployment is being extended an additional month to assist the citizens of Nome with their looming energy crisis.

Body Of Stanley Rookok, Missing Since December 15th, Found Near Gambell

GAMBELL, Alaska-Yesterday afternoon, at about 3:10 pm, the Alaska State Troopers were notified that the body of Stanley Rookok had been found. Troopers will respond to t the village of Gambell today to conduct an investigation into his death. It is unclear where his body was found.

Justice Department Reaches $335 Million Settlement To Resolve Allegations Of Lending Discrimination By Countrywide Financial Corporation

The Department of Justice today filed its largest residential fair lending settlement in history to resolve allegations that Countrywide Financial Corporation and its subsidiaries engaged in a widespread pattern or practice of discrimination against qualified African-American and Hispanic borrowers in their mortgage lending from 2004 through 2008.
