Department Of Interior Releases First Of Its Kind Regional Carbon Storage Assessment

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Department of the Interior yesterday released the first in a series of regional studies measuring the amount of carbon stored in U.S. ecosystems. Published by Interior’s U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the study examines the current and projected future carbon storage in the Great Plains region, as part of a nation-wide assessment.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – United States Attorney Karen L. Loeffler announced today that a West Virginia man was sentenced in federal court in Anchorage, to 30 years in federal prison for interstate travel with intent to engage in a sexual act with a child under the age of twelve.
