ANCHORAGE-Two small Alaskan communities have received Rural Innovation Fund Indian Economic Development and Entrepreneurship grant according to a statement by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development yesterday. They were two of 46 rural and tribal communities in 19 states to be awarded more than $28 million through the new Rural Innovation Fund.

WASHINGTON D.C.-AN earthquake struck five miles South Southwest of Mineral, Virginia at 1:51 pm Eastern Time today. It originated at a depth of 3.7 miles. At a magnitude of 5.8, the quake was the largest quake ever recorded in that area and was felt along much of the East Coast.
ANCHORAGE, ALASKA-Jessica Beagley, the "Hot-Sauce Mom," who made international news with her video showing her squirting Hot Sauce into the mouth of her 7 year old adopted son, received a verdict in her case in Anchorage today. She was found guilty of one count of misdemeanor child abuse.
