Washington, D.C. –Senators Lisa Murkowski and Mark Begich, along with the support of Congressman Don Young passed a resolution recognizing the 40th anniversary of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act. On December 18, 1971, the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) was enacted to settle longstanding issues of the Alaska Native aboriginal land claims.

Two Dead In Kipnuk, Infant Survives

KIPNUK, Alaska-A death investigation is underway in the village of Kipnuk. According to Alaska State trooper reports, at approximately midnight, just before the early morning hours of December 18th, the troopers received a call from the Tribal officer in Kipnuk, reporting that the bodies of two individuals had been found at their residence.
