Alaska Legislature Changes Fire Standards Council Membership

Juneau, Alaska – The Alaska Legislature Thursday unanimously passed a bill ensuring appropriate representation on the Alaska Fire Standards Council. The Council is currently made up of 11 members, 10 of which are appointed by the governor.

Legislature Acts to Extend the Alaska Minerals Commission

Juneau, Alaska – The Alaska Legislature Thursday, with unanimous passage in the Senate, passed a bill to extend the lifetime of the Alaska Minerals Commission. The Commission was created in 1986 to make recommendations on ways to help develop the state’s mineral resources.

Alaska House Bill Will Allow Students to Challenge Course Content

Juneau, Alaska – The Alaska House of Representatives Thursday unanimously passed a bill allowing high school students to test out of a course if they demonstrate a mastery of the subject.
