Teens Increasingly Abuse Prescription Painkillers

Today’s teens and young people are abusing prescription painkillers more than any other age group or any other youth in history. Availability of these drugs from their parents’ medicine cabinets may be to blame, according to new research in the Journal of Adolescent Health.

Coast Guardsman Dies During Smuggler Intercept

A U. S. Coast Guard member died early this morning from injuries sustained during law enforcement operations near Santa Cruz Island, California. 34-year-old Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Terrell Horne died from traumatic head injuries when the watercraft he was in was rammed by a suspected drug smuggling vessel.
