Reported Flu and Pertussis Cases Increase in Alaska

ANCHORAGE — Influenza activity in Alaska has increased in recent weeks and has been confirmed in most regions of the state, according to the Alaska State Virology Laboratory. Pertussis (whooping cough) cases are also still on the rise.

Truce Declared in Gaza Conflict

An end to the hostilities in the Gaza Strip have been announced. Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohammed Kamel Amr and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced the cease-fire that will take effect at 9 pm Middle East time.
