NASA's UARS Satellite Re-Enters Atmosphere Over Pacific
NASA’s decommissioned Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite fell back to Earth between 11:23 p.m. EDT Friday, Sept. 23 and 1:09 a.m. EDT Sept. 24.
Coast Guard Medevacs Sailor Southwest of Kodiak
KODIAK, Alaska — A Coast Guard Air Station MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew medevaced a 47-year-old male from the 422-foot tanker Murray Star which was more than 500 miles southwest of Kodiak Thursday.
NASA's UARS Due to Re-Enter Atmosphere Late Today or Early Tomorrow
NASA's Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite, or UARS, is expected to re-enter Earth's atmosphere late Sept. 23 or early Sept. 24 Eastern Daylight Time, almost six years after the end of a productive scientific life. Although the spacecraft will break into pieces during re-entry, not all of it will burn up in the atmosphere.
