WASHINGTON, DC – Senator Lisa Murkowski yesterday voted in support of an appropriations bill combining three separate spending bills – referred to as a ‘minibus’ bill – that passed the U.S. Senate, containing millions in essential supplies and services for rural Alaska. Murkowski serves on the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee and 6 different Appropriations Subcommittees.
ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – United States Attorney Karen L. Loeffler announced that a Juneau man was sentenced in federal court in Juneau to seven years in prison for his conviction of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
WASHINGTON D.C.-The FBI released documents yesterday in response to a Freedom of Information Act request by the Associated Press. The documents, many of which were very heavily redacted, told the story of Russian sleeper agents on the prowl to gain access to secrets from people at the highest levels of the government.
ANCHORAGE-The pilot who died in the Era Helicopter LLC crash southwest of Iliamna Saturday, has been identified as 66-year-old William Zeman. Zeman was the senior pilot for Era Helicopters and was a resident of Douglas.
