Sealaska Finds an Ancient Canoe Near Kasaan
JUNEAU, Alaska – Sealaska Corporation has found an ancient, partially carved Haida canoe on forested land it owns near the Organized Village of Kasaan on Prince of Wales Island.
Fishing Vessel Legend Grounds, Burns South of Ketchikan
JUNEAU, Alaska – The Coast Guard responded to the grounding and a subsequent fire aboard the 58-foot fishing vessel Legend at Bostwick Point about eight miles south of Ketchikan Monday.
Two Planes Collide Mid-Air, Return Safely
ALASKA-Two small planes collided mid-air over Lake Clark Pass at 2,300 feet on Sunday afternoon, but were able to land safely in Anchorage after the incident. Neither pilot saw the other until the impact was imminent. No one was injured in the accident.
