Traffic slowed to a crawl at Caribou Pass, and was confined to one lane following a semi rollover at that location at approximately 11:30 am late Tuesday morning.
The commercial semi, driven by 46-year-old Dante Cuaresma, rolled over and wrecked at the bottom of the winding road below the downgrade in Caribou Pass at mile 107 Glenn Highway.
According to the trooper report, the semi detached from the two trailers it was towing and rolled. The two trailers in tow were transporting alcoholic beverages. One of the trailers was completely destroyed. That trailer scattered Alaska Brewing Company beer bottles, cans and kegs over the landscape at the scene. The other trailer was also damaged the trooper dispatch reported.
DOT&PF responded to the scene to perform traffic control, while Alaska Lyndon Transport worked assisting with the clean-up of the alcoholic mess. Commercial Vehicle Enforcement also responded to the scene.
Cuaresma Suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
