Alaska State Troopers received two reports on Friday informing them of a disturbance at a private residence in Selawik about 12:36 am.

When they arrived at the residence, they found that 31-year-old Selawik resident Vanessa l Mitchell had been in an altercation with a female occupant of the house.

Mitchell would later demand a ride from another occupant of the home. When her demand for a ride was not met, she broke out one of the windows in the residence causing approximately $1,000 in damage.

After breaking the window, Mitchell then threatened to enter the home through the broken window and continue her fight with the other female in the house. She was prevented from entering the house by another person in the home. Soon after she left the area.

Troopers would later be located and arrested for Criminal Mischief III and Attempted Burglary I.

Mitchell was transported to Kotzebue wheere she was remanded to the Kotzebue Jail and held without bail.
