Motgin is now charged with six counts. Charges of Murder in the First Degree, Murder in the Second Degree, Robbery in the First Degree, Tampering with Evidence, Vehicle Theft, and Theft. He has been charged with murdering Young Suk Chong.
Motgin, who was arrested earlier on unrelated charges, had new charges leveled at him in the case of the death of Young Suk Chong. He was indicted by a Grand Jury and charges were filed on February 14th according to court documents. Chong was found dead in her cab, near Napakiak, on February 1st.
Motgin was picked up by Bethel based troopers, investigators and village public safety officers on February 2nd. on felony warrants for Assault 4, and Assault 3 as well as probation violations. Search warrants were issued for eight different locations in Napakiak and Bethel during the investigation.
Motgin, age 21, despite his age, has an extensive history of violent crime according to court documents. He remains incarcerated in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Correctional Center on $500,000 bail.
