Officers from the Bethel Police Department responded to call of a disturbance at a home in Bethel on Tuesday night.
After the officers arrived at the scene, it is reported that one of the officers was involved in a shooting at the residence. According to the dispatch of the event, an adult male was shot.

After the incident, the Bethel Police Department contacted the Alaska State Troopers for assistance at 10:45 pm to secure the scene. Troopers responded to the call.
This morning, the Alaska Bureau of Investigations personnel flew into Bethel to investigate the incident, arriving there at 6 am.
Investigators are currently in the process of their investigation there.
The name of the deceased male as well as the identity of the officer involved has not been released at this time. The victim’s name will not be released until his identity is confirmed and next of kin has been notified. The man’s remains are expected to be transported to the State Medical Examiner’s office in Anchorage for autopsy.
The name of the officer involved in the shooting will be released according to the Bethel Police Department policy.
