ANCHOR POINT-On July 31, 2011, Alaska State Troopers were notified of a break-in at a cabin along the Old Sterling outside of Anchor Point.

There were several items stolen in the incident. The person filing the complaint had no idea who the person or persons were who gained entry into the cabin.

On September 9th, 2011, another caller reported the theft of several documents from a residence in Anchor Point. Investigations into the matter found that several personal documents were stolen, including a social security number and banking information. As the investigation continued, it was found that Gedediah Nye, 28 of Anchor Point had used the documents to obtain a drivers License, open a credit card account, and use the credit account to make several purchases. Nye also forged several checks that he had stolen from the victim.

During the investigation and arrest of Gedediah Nye and his accomplice, Sheena Cundiff, age 29 also of Anchor Point, it was found that they were in possession of several items from the previously reported burglary of the cabin outside the same community.

The two were charged with several counts in the two thefts. Charges of Burglary in the first Degree, Theft in the Second Degree, Criminal Impersonation in the First, Obtaining an Access Device by Fraudulent Means(two counts), Fraudulent Use of an Access Device (three counts), and Forgery in the Third Degree (two counts). They were remanded to the Wildwood Correctional Center in Kenai.

On September 14th, 2011, at 3:15 in the afternoon, while Nye was incarcerated at Wildwood, Alaska State Troopers executed a search warrant on Nye’s trailer in Anchor Point. The warrant search at that time turned up several controlled substances and drug paraphernalia. As a result, additional charges of Misconduct involving a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree and Misconduct involving a Controlled Substance in the Sixth Degree were leveled against Nye.
