Troopers Increase Patrol Efforts Surrounding St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations

(ANCHORAGE, Alaska) – While the official St. Patrick’s Day is Monday, March 17, the Alaska State Troopers will ramp up enforcement efforts from March 14 through March 18. Alaska State Troopers patrol units, alongside the Bureau of Highway Patrol troopers, will be working extra hours and focusing their efforts on curbing impaired and dangerous driving.

Troopers End Enhanced Holiday Enforcement

(ANCHORAGE, Alaska) – Alaska State Troopers concluded its concentrated enforcement effort to keep the roads safe this holiday season. The ramped up effort that started Dec. 13 and ended Jan. 1 was part of the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” national DUI enforcement campaign.

Alaska State Troopers Starting a Criminal Suppression Unit in the Mat-Su Valley

(PALMER, Alaska) – Starting January 1, 2014, Mat-Su Valley residents will have a unit of troopers working to combat property crimes, the Criminal Suppression Unit (CSU). One sergeant and three troopers have already been assembled and are diligently collecting information and will be ready for the official start date.

Safety Advisory – Muskox

Muskox have recently been sighted in and around the Bethel area. The animals have been observed in the periphery of residential homes, along winter trails and near the water front in Bethel. Muskox use a wide variety of habitat, and can move long distances in short periods of time.
