It was revealed on Thursday, first by the Guardian, then by the Washington Post that a previously undisclosed program called PRISM gave access to the government for files such as chats, emails, stored data, voice traffic, photographs and social networking data from nine major Internet firms.
The Fairbanks man, 36-year-old Nyrobbie Chandler, who killed his girlfriend Kaylynn Bishop, pled guilty in a Fairbanks courtroom on Wednesday to Second-Degree Murder.
It has been decided by New Jersey's Governor Chris Christie that that state's Attorney General Jeffery Chiesa will temporarily fill the seat left vacant by the passing of late Senator Frank Lautenberg. The governor made the announcement on Thursday.
