District Judge Sharon Gleason handed down a sentence of 41 months in prison and ordered Maggie Ahmaogak to pay $393,193.90 in restitution for theft, money laundering and misuse of Whaling Commission funds.
President Obama yesterday ordered Federal aid to supplement state and local recovery efforts for the severe storm, flooding ans landslides that occurred from September 15th to September 30th of this year. The President also declared that weather incident a major disaster.
On Tuesday, in Kenai, Governor Parnell announced that the 2014 budget will contain $10 million as a first part of a five-year, $30 million Comprehensive King Salmon Research Initiative.
