Governor Surveys Flood Damage, Declares State Disaster

According to the FBI, who have taken the lead in the investigation of the two Coast Guard personnel shot at the Kodiak Coast Guard base, the case is being treated as a double homicide.

DeHavilland Beaver Crashes after Takoff From Niblack Mine Area Near Ketchikan

Around 11:17 am, yesterday, the Coast Guard were notified of an overdue aircraft due back from Niblack Mine. About the same time, Coast Search and Rescue was notifed by Ketchikan Air Station that an emergency locator beacon had been detected.
