Gov. Urges Swift Passage of Trafficking Bill
Juneau, Alaska – Governor Sean Parnell yesterday urged lawmakers to pass House Bill 359, his legislation strengthening penalties for human trafficking, on the first day of the special session.
Alaska Exports Reach Record Highs
April 13, 2012, Juneau, Alaska – Governor Sean Parnell announced Alaska’s 2011 exports increased 26.1 percent to $5.2 billion, the highest annual export value ever. Alaska had topped the $5 billion mark in annual export value for the first time ever earlier this year. The state’s 2010 exports were $4.2 billion.
Governor Parnell Thanks House for Protecting Alaskans
Juneau, Alaska – Governor Sean Parnell yesterday thanked members of the Alaska House of Representatives for their unanimous support of his legislation to toughen penalties for sex trafficking. HB 359 makes it a crime for anyone to conspire to commit sex trafficking or human trafficking in the first degree.
