Notice of Appeal Filed In Polar Bear Case

Anchorage, Alaska – The State of Alaska filed an appeal challenging the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s 2008 listing of the polar bear as a threatened species. The state seeks to overturn a June decision of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia that upheld the listing.

25 Alaskan Post Offices Removed From Post Office Closure List

ANCHORAGE-In a meeting today between U.S. Sen. Mark Begich, officials with the United States Postal Service (USPS), rural health care providers, and other community groups, postal officials announced 25 Alaska post offices are no longer under consideration for closure.
