The Fairbanks man, 26-year-old Carl David Jr, who was arrested in April of 2012 in the death of a two-year-old child pleaded "Guilty" in court on Friday afternoon in a plea agreement.
David, who has been in police custody since last April pled guilty to the charge of Second Degree Murder before Superior Court Judge Douglas Blankenship Friday. David was originally charged with First-Degree Murder in the death of the chiild.
It was in April of last year that David was accused of throwing the toddler, two-year-old Jacob Williams, onto a bed that he bounced off of and hit his head on the floor. David then stepped on the boy’s genitals with his heel because he had wet the bed. The young child remained unconcious for an hour. Even though David realized that the boy was unconscious and not breathing right, he never attempted to call 911.

It wasn’t until the boy’s mother returned home from running errands that the boy was taken to the hospital to recieve attention for his injuries. The mother of the child pushed the injured child from her 15th Avenue apartment to the Fairbanks Memorial Hospital in a baby stroller.
The young child never recovered from injuries sustained from David. His injuries included a fractured skull with internal brain bleeding, a broken neck, and other internal injuries to the head and genitals. The toddler died two days later at an Anchorage hospital.
David can receive up to 70 years for the death of the child.
