Allergies, or hypersensitivities of the immune system, are more common than ever before. According to the Asthma and Allergies Foundation of America, one in five Americans suffers from an allergy — from milder forms like hay fever to more severe instances, like peanut allergies which can lead to anaphylactic shock.

SEARHC Hires Debra Graceland as Patient Advocate

JUNEAU — The SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) has hired Debra Graceland as its Juneau-based patient advocate, with an office on the upper floor of the Ethel Lund Medical Center near the pharmacy. Debra will serve as the customer service liaison for patients from Juneau, Haines, Klukwan, Skagway and Hoonah.
