Snowden's Options Narrow as Most Countries Reject His Asylum Petitions

Saying that his country never intended to intentionally help NSA leaker Edward Snowden and is not even considering Snowden's asylum until he is in-country, President Rafael Correa said it is the responsibility of Russia to facilitate Snowden's travel to Ecuador. Correa said giving Snowden a document for travel was a mistake.

Kimberly McCarthy Becomes 500th Person to be Executed in Texas since 1982

Kimberly McCarthy drew her last breaths Wednesday evening in Huntsville, Texas and was pronounced dead at 6:37 pm. She died 20 minutes after she was administered a single lethal dose of pentobarbitol. She became the 500th person executed in Texas since the re-start of the state's death penalty in 1982.
