The General Assembly yesterday strongly condemned the continued “widespread and systematic†human rights violations by the Syrian authorities and demanded that the Government immediately cease all violence and protect its people.

WASHINGTON-Within an hour after the U.S. House passed the payroll tax cut, the Senate did likewise on a 60-36 passing vote. The legislation now goes to the desk of the President for signing.
WASHINGTON-In a 293-132 vote, the U.S. House approved the Payroll Tax cut, it is now being sent to the Senate. The Senate need only approve it with 50 votes.
