State Survey Shows Significant Drop in Youth Smoking in Alaska

(ANCHORAGE) — The state’s health commissioner and chief medical officer announced Monday that smoking among Alaska high school students has declined 40 percent between 2007 and 2013, from 17.8 percent in 2007 to only 10.6 percent in 2013.

Alaska State troopers and the Homer Police Department went to a residence off of the Sterling Highway on Thursday afternoon at 1 PM and contacted 20-year-old Nanwalek resident Travis C. Greene and promptly arrested him on sexual abuse charges.
