Anchorage Police Department has received 10 reports and multiple other complaints regarding the “Grandparent Scam.†In one case a person sounding just like the grandmother’s grandson called to tell her he had been in a wreck and needed money for medical bills.
In the early morning hours of Saturday, at 1:48 am, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of shots fired at a Wasilla residence. The troopers arrived to the scene at 1:52 am to find two individuals who had suffered gunshot wounds.
The bill that passed the legislature today and headed for the Governor's desk strengthens human or sex trafficking laws in the state of Alaska.
