Long-Time Artist John Hoover, 91, Passes Away

CORDOVA, ALASKA-Longtime Alaskan Artist John Hoover passed away on Saturday morning, September 3rd, near Grapeview in Puget Sound. He was 91. Hoover was born in Cordova on October 13th, 1919. He was of Dutch-Aleut-Russian ancestry. He is survived by his wife and daughter.

Pilots Involved In Fatal Air Collision Were Boyfriend, Girlfriend

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA-The pilots involved in the mid-air collision north of Nightmute last Friday were boy friend/girlfriend according to reports. They had been communicating prior to the crash and had been flying together towards Bethal at the time of the incident.

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA-A mid-air collision involving two planes was reported to the Alaska State Troopers Friday at about 4 in the afternoon. The accident involved two small commercial aircraft. One, a Cessna 207 operated by Ryan Air, the other, a Cessna 208 Caravan operated by Grant Aviation.
