Fairbanks, Alaska – Doyon, Limited is donating $1 million dollars to Tanana Chiefs Conference (TCC) in support of the construction of the new Chief Andrew Isaac Health Center (CAIHC). The Doyon board of directors approved the contribution at their regular quarterly meeting held in mid-November in Fairbanks.

In approving the contribution, the Doyon board stated that it is an investment that will benefit Doyon shareholders and theNative community as whole. A significant number of Doyon shareholders and their descendants reside in Interior Alaska andreceive health care services through Tanana Chiefs Conference programs.

“Doyon is pleased to make this donation,” said Aaron Schutt, Doyon’s President and CEO. “It is symbolic of the unity betweenTCC and Doyon. The clinic and its new features will improve the health care services provided in Interior Alaska.

”TCC President Jerry Isaac said “TCC is grateful for Doyon’s gift,” as it “demonstrates the good working relationship the twoorganizations have in serving the Native people in our region.

”The $72 million clinic is located on Lathrop Street next to the Big Dipper arena and is scheduled to open in early 2013. With the new CAIHC facility, TCC Health Services will be able to expand all of their current programming under one facility. New programming such as labs, radiology and limited oncology will also be housed under the same roof. “It is very exciting to be able to provide our patients a one stop shop,” said Victor Joseph, TCC Health Director. In addition to current services offered by CAIHC, new services will also be introduced to the building, such as podiatry, geriatrics and some cancer treatment services.
